I like the idea of having the statistics class connect to the students through using a survey to see what interests them, I think that’s a good way to get students more into what they are learning.
I think that you could add more onto your fourth paragraph such as why it is important for this interaction to happen.

I think that you have a strong essay and your quotes fit right in and flow well.
In your introduction paragraph it sounds like you are repeating yourself, I think that you could take those two sentences and make them into one rather then breaking them up.
