In our discussion today we talked about what differentiates banking\neducation and the problem-posing education method. We went through the pros and\ncons of how each work. We have been given a systematic way of getting handed\ninformation and just reciting everything that is taught. One of the things with\nbanking education is that it does not motivate me to genuinely put in any effort.\nHigh school was incredibly difficult to go through the motions and memorize things\nthen a week after the test, it will soon be forgotten. This method has really\naffected me in my grades because comprehending information is much more valuable\nthan memorizing. A huge aspect that is between a good teacher and a bad teacher\nis their ability to make students think rather than memorizing. The\nproblem-posing method is far superior since it allows students to be enthusiastic\nwhen learning. I had a few teachers that taught this way and the impact it had\non me was that I was able to actually \u201clearn\u201d topics. In college, we are\nrequired to take gen-ed classes, which have a positive and negative impact.\nThese classes need to be taught with passion and make students able to be\nmotivated.
