In this discussion on Thursday, we talked about of Freire believes there is only one way of teaching. This way is the teacher talks and the students listen. We all agree with this in that it is a way to teach, but it isn’t the only way. There are many more ways to teach and to learn, such as reading a textbook, using partners, or doing research. Every student learns differently and every teacher teaches differently. We also talked about what was due in class on Monday. We talked about the writing topic proposals and if we were using partners, what topic we were doing, etc. We talked about the project and helped each other out on the topic selections and gave each other ideas on what to write about. We decided to help each other in explaining the prompts and working through Freire’s work to better understand.
